Mr. Smith is a Strategic Executive at Avista Healthcare Partners. Mr. Smith joins Avista after a successful 40-year career at Johnson & Johnson, where he held several senior executive roles including President North America Pharmaceuticals, President Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals and Vice President Business Development. He most recently served as strategic advisor to Senior Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Leadership, where he played a critical role in all commercial activities and investments. Mr. Smith has extensive leadership experience in Finance, General Management and Business Development. This experience spans large and small molecules, orphan/specialty products, gene therapies and vaccines. His deep therapeutic experience includes Oncology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Cardiovascular/Metabolics, Women’s Health, Pain Management, Neuroscience and Pulmonary Hypertension.

Mr. Smith received a B.A. in Finance from Seton Hall University. He currently serves on the board of Cosette Pharmaceuticals.
